Spin Bike Repair & Preventive Maintenance

Dedicated Spin Bike Repair for Studios and Home Cyclists

Indoor cycling bikes — commonly called spin bikes — are designed for high-intensity use, which means they’re built tough but also subject to intense wear. The heavy flywheel, direct-drive or belt-drive system, friction or magnetic resistance brake, and adjustable components all take a beating, especially in studio environments where bikes go through multiple classes per day with different riders adjusting everything between sessions.

New Fitness Equipment provides specialized spin bike repair for cycling studios, home gym owners and commercial fitness facilities across the Lehigh Valley. We understand the unique mechanics of indoor cycling bikes and can service everything from the drivetrain to the console.

Common Spin Bike Problems We Repair

Brake pad wear is the most common issue on friction-resistance spin bikes — the felt or leather pad that presses against the flywheel wears down with use and eventually stops providing consistent resistance. On magnetic-resistance bikes, we see issues with the resistance knob, the magnet assembly, and the cable or motor that controls resistance level. Drive belt or chain replacement is another frequent repair, especially on heavily used studio bikes. Clicking or knocking noises during pedaling usually indicate a loose crank arm, worn bottom bracket bearings, or a pedal in need of replacement. Seat post slipping, handlebar looseness, and water bottle holder damage are common wear-and-tear items in studio environments.

Brands We Service

We service spin bikes from Peloton, Keiser, Schwinn, Life Fitness (IC series), Precor (Spinner line), Star Trac, Matrix, NordicTrack (S-series), Echelon, Bowflex VeloCore, Stages, Sunny Health & Fitness, Assault Fitness, and others. Our technicians are experienced with both direct-contact friction brakes and magnetic eddy-current resistance systems.

Spin Bike Preventive Maintenance

Spin bikes in studio environments should be professionally serviced at least quarterly. Home spin bikes benefit from an annual service visit. Maintenance includes brake pad inspection and replacement, drive belt or chain inspection and adjustment, flywheel cleaning, pedal and crank arm inspection, seat and handlebar adjustment mechanism check, and a full safety inspection of the frame, welds, and stabilizer feet.
